Cooperative Learning Model of Teaching

Dear Students & Parents,

I thought I would share with you some things that I have learned about teaching with the Cooperative Learning Model of Teaching.

1.There are many activities that could be completed such as presentations, slideshows, tutorials, ebooks, etc.  All of these activities could be adapted to many content areas such as math, literacy, science, and more.  Students can create, complete, and show their work through these activities!
2.Tools to complete such things include Slide Rocket, Twitter, Blogger, and more!
3. The jigsaw method can be used as a teaching tool to break up the group and make the students an expert in one area & have them share their knowledge with a small group. What a wonderful thing!!

Curriculum Content #2

Hi again,

Here is another great resource for a different subject area that I thought I would share.

Enjoy!

Social Studies Curriculum Expectations:

SOC.3.1.2.1
By the end of Grade 3, students will: identify the countries of origin of the people who settled in Upper Canada around 1800 (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany)

The following site is great for students to explore! They will be able to explore the settlement patterns of many different groups to Canada. Have fun & learn lots! Canadian Settlements
